Join us for this multi-night show, inviting residents and visitors alike to wander through interconnected garden rooms aglow with holiday lights. Experience the magic of Windrush Gardens where the past and present shine in perfect harmony.



1. Parking

A parking pass is required for each vehicle and can be purchased for $10.00 when purchasing admission tickets. Parking passes will not be available for purchase on-site so please make sure that you or someone in your group has purchased a parking pass for the vehicle you will be riding in. The parking entrance is at 4560 Essen Lane. Follow the signs for check-in and parking. Have parking pass ready to show at both the entrance to property and at the parking lot where the attendant will scan the pass.

2. Rideshare and Drop-Off

Rideshare and Drop-Off drivers must enter the property at 4560 Essen Lane. Please have tickets ready at the entrance and have the driver use flashers to indicate a rideshare vehicle. Follow signs for rideshare pick-up / drop-off which will be located at the front of the LSU Rural Life Museum.

Louisiana Lights Nights

General Admission - 11/29/24 through 12/29/24

Louisiana Lights opens the Friday after Thanksgiving, 11/29, and each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening through Sunday, 12/29. Tickets are available for timed entry every 30 minutes starting at 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Tickets are $20.00 per person ages 4 and up, children 3 and under are free.


Special Nights

Poinsettias & Prosecco - 12/4/24

Experience the magic of the season at "Poinsettias & Prosecco," an exclusive 21+ event hosted by the Friends of LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens. This special evening will take place at Louisiana Lights on Wednesday, December 4th from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Wander through the stunningly lit Windrush Gardens while enjoying delectable small bites and perfectly paired drinks from local restaurants. Delight in live music on the porch of the Burden family home, participate in a live auction, and enjoy delicious desserts. Tickets are $100 per person. Parking is included in the admission ticket for Poinsettias & Prosecco.

A Rural Life Christmas - 12/08/24 

On Sunday, December 8th, start your day at our annual A Rural Life Christmas Celebration from 10:00 AM until dusk. Enjoy the traditional festivities of this yearly event and immerse yourself in the past with music, artisans, photos with Papa Noel, and more. As the day winds down, join us for the 5:30 PM session of Louisiana Lights, which will illuminate the evening with holiday cheer. With a single $15.00 ticket purchased for the 5:30 session, you can enjoy both events on Sunday, December 8th. When purchasing a ticket for A Rural Life Christmas, no parking pass is required.

Barks & Bright Night - 12/12/24

Bring your favorite four-legged friend to Louisiana Lights on Thursday, December 12th.  A special night for you and your puppy pal to stroll through a festive, dog-friendly winter wonderland. Delight in seasonal treats and capture festive photos with Santa Paws- it’s a night of twinkling lights and tail-wagging fun you won't want to miss! Tickets are $5.00 per dog and each dog is required to have a ticket for admission. Each group or family may have a maximum of two dogs.

Double-check chosen date and time slot to ensure accuracy. The experience takes approximately 1.5 hours.
The last permitted time of entry is 9:00 pm.
The light show will close at 10:00 pm.
The event is held outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, so attendees should be prepared for rain or shine. The event is an outdoor walking experience, so wear appropriate attire. The paths are surfaced with finely crushed and firmly compacted gravel, allowing wheelchairs to maneuver along the trail.
Pets are not permitted on the property with the exception of 12/12/24.
Burden Museum & Gardens maintains a smoke-free environment, prohibiting smoking, including electronic cigarettes, both indoors and outdoors.
